• "On-line and Off-line Communication Methods": In 1997, I used Yahoo People Search and looked up the addresses of distant RAGAN cousins in a target area in Florida and an area in Georgia. I made up a "special package" that consisted of a half-dozen pages of information and mailed it to them. Two weeks later I sent a follow up mailing.

What happened? I got an incredible 25 percent response in only 30 days! Responses from that mailing have trickled in over the years and it is now at over 50 percent response. Have you noticed that every time you start looking around at genealogy information on the Internet that some genealogy company wants you to sign up with their service on a monthly contract so that you can access their data and databases?
